About Us
Community Inspired Solutions, Inc. was established in July 2014 to work with youth by providing opportunities and alternatives for them to steer away from negative lifestyle choices. Too many youth in our society suffer from lack of education, unemployment, live in increased violence and a myriad of other problems which are eroding the family unit in communities across America. The mission of Community Inspired Solutions, Inc. is to decrease the violence in our community and support families to help them become productive members of society. Our organization strives to provide individuals with education and training for employment, assist with job placement, life skills education and training, GED classes, mentoring, and tutoring for youth.
CIS Life Skills Program is just one of the initiatives we have implemented to educate and train the youth in our community through topics such as Anger Management, Self Esteem/Self-Motivation, Goal Setting, Job Interview Skills, Appropriate Job Interview Attire and Financial Stability. In the time we have been in existence, we have also developed an Equine Training and Employment Program which has trained and placed 20 young adults in jobs on horse farms throughout the Fayette County area and we continue to interview candidates each week.
We are currently enrolling for our CIS/ConQuest Boys and CIS/Challenge Girls Clubs, The Learning Community After School Tutoring Program and various other programs.
We fully understand how family dynamics play a role in the health of the entire family unit and in some instances, it is essential to help the parents in order to help the child. With this in mind, we have plans to expand our services to assist parents by holding monthly parenting seminars and providing assistance with job searches and employment.
While our primary focus is on youth, we do not turn away any request for help as we have provided clothing to several families in need. Our volunteers believe "It Takes a Village To Raise A Child" and we work with that goal in mind.
While you can see we have accomplished quite a bit in our short existence, there is still much work to be done. We are asking community members and businesses to support us in these endeavors to help make Lexington a better place to live and grow.
