ConQuest Boys & Challenge Girls Club

Picture
In partnership with ConQuest Leadership Program we established the boys and girls clubs. These clubs are for kids in grades K-12, with the older kids serving as mentors for the younger ones. The curriculum is based on the 12 Virtues of Service, Charity, Kindness, Friendship, Obedience, Prayer, Joy, Generosity, Faith, Sincerity Compassion, and Courage. This program now includes tutoring, STEM and Cultural education. In 2020 we will expand this program even further.

We meet every Tuesday from 6-8pm at St. Peter and Paul School, 423 West Short St.

Digital Photography Club

Picture
In February 2019 we started a new initiative, our Digital Photography Club. Lead by international photojournalist Patrick Mitchell, this program is a six week course where students learn the basics of photography including camera mechanics, exposure, lighting and composition. Students go out in the field and capture the essence of the community and they get to express what they view as beautiful and artistic. The program wrapped up with a successful digital photography art show where students debuted their prints. This program will return in 2020.

CIS & Frankie's Corner

Picture
CIS & Frankie's Corner Little Throughbred Crusade is an introduction to the Equestrian World and Horsemanship as an alternative to detention. Together our organizations introduce youth and young adults (age 14 and older) to various aspects of the equestrian world providing a blended series of hands on education with a scholarly equine context. We will provide basic training from horsemanship to advanced riding along with ranch living.

This new program is designed to decrease the number of youth in detention while providing a positive environment to learn a skill and necessary life-skills training.

Equine Training & Employment

Picture
Our Equine Training and Employment Program teaches young adults how to care for horses. This program includes education on Horse Husbandry and essential skills our participants will need should they decide to enter the equine industry or prepare for higher level equine educational studies. Through hands-on academic preparation, participants learn horse handling techniques, barn and farm management and other care taking practices. We added a youth Equine program in the summer of 2015 and will bring it back this summer. Now Accepting Applications!
